    The Stock Rims Must Go!

    Hey Guys,

I really don't like the stock wheels that came on my 2000 C230 Kompressor, so I was thinking about putting the 17" C43 AMG monoblock rims, or the 17" C32 AMG rims on. Which one do you think would look better on the car?

Okay, I gotta see if I can find some of the monos around, but what would you think about the stock ride height and these 17's? Or should I cut the springs and then go with thinner spring pads?

If you're going to buy Mono's make sure they are 17x7.5's. Not 8.5's... I had those, made my life a living hell :x

    Spare no expense...

I would go AMG. You could save money, but the Benz and Euro community would spot that and probably flame you. Our VW brothers always take our knockoff Mono's and put it on their Jetta's. Nothing wrong with it, but... you wanna go genuine IMPO.

That sits almost exactly how I would want it too. Very nice! I wonder if I could get 17's to sit similar to that with H&R springs and maybe #1 spring pad all around?

Here are your two choices on my C36. Both are staggered with 7.5x17 up front and 8.5x17 in the rear. Tire size is 225/45R17 and 245/40R17 respectively.

Yeah, don't ever waste money on replica AMG rims. On top of "getting what you pay for" I've heard stories of them cracking and being unusable within a year or two.

And on our classic-boxey cars, monos all the way. I'm dying for 2 sets of 17" monos. One for my C280, and one for my wife's '94 E320.

Yeaa thanks for the pictures those really helped. The C32 wheels don't really look so right on the W202, but the monos always seem to fit just right. Now the question is 17" or 18" cause it is my daily driver. Hm?

Monos ARE.....an i mean ARE awesome. But have you thought about something else besides those two rims? I mean i like monos but damn look through the members ride section everyone has them.i know someone will chime in an say we have them cause they look good but id say stray away an try something new. Just sayin.....main reason i thought people bought 202s to mod was to be different an not have a honda or nissan an it seems alot of people do the same ish. Lurk through the gallery again an get some ideas there are quite a few in there with some oddball rims that are just sick an badass....../end rant/ my 2cents

941 is right. However, non-stock 202's are pretty rare. In any given city, you'll likely never see another 202 with monos. While you may blend in on this forum and look like everyone else, in your town no one's gonna see another car like your's no matter what you do, it's a 202.

Very true statement I've yet to see a non-stock W202 around Connecticut too, so yea I guess the mono's wouldn't be so bad after all, and to mbsickness which AMG wheels are those off the CLK? I like the look of those on the W202 I think I'll consider those too. But if I'm not going in the mono direction which wheels or brands at least would you say to look at cause I feel like a lot of wheels don't really look to good on the W202. Any suggestions?

From what I can remember these "170" wheels came on both the sport edition of the CLK and SLK. They are staggered which is nice but it seems the front 7.5 width rims are prone to cracking so make sure any set you get have not been repaired.

Okay sounds good, so I should definitely stay away from AMG replicas because a lot of what I see online or ebay seem to be replicas and I'm not even sure which ones would be good quality (if they are even good quality)? Any suggestions of where to get them from in case I go that route?
