it would but maybe a mild stretch.. what's the wheel specs?
Got the new wheels on but usuing the tires that came with it (off an e class) so it rubs some times. I'm ordering new tires in a few days for my trip to Connecticut so my question is if I have 235/55/17 on there now I want to get 215/45/17 would they fit on the rim.

Crosscheck your wheel width with the tire size recommendation chart of your tire manufacturer. People say I am stretching my tires a lot on my AMG wheels, but they still fall into what Continental considers safe.

i dont know the width of my wheels i got. but 235 is what was on it and it was on an e class. so im assuming thats the regualar tire size for that car seeing it is a bigger car. i cant see how moving to a 215 would be a big deal its not that much of a difference. im just not sure and i want to get the right ones before i order lol

Send a tape measure through the rim. A quick measurement from lip to lip can save you trouble later if you got the wrong tires!
well when i was down at a buddies shop he threw one in there and said it should fit lol. so i guess ill get 215 45 17. but finding out its not the tires that are rubbing makes it worse lol but i need them anyways lol

you should be ok... i was thinking of running 215/40/18 all around on 8.5 wide wheels et 35... i have 225/40/18 all around now on 8.5 fronts and 9 rears....
That sounds like it would be stanced perfectly lol
plus imma space them out 15mm to bring final offset to 20
