    kompressor pully kit

    hello all,

i am new to the club. i am looking for a good kompressor pulley kit for my 99 c230 sport. anyone have any suggestions? i have read about a bigger crank pulley, is that the way to go? what other things would i have to do? plugs? ecu tuning? fuel pressure?

i work for mercedes and can do the work myself i just dont know what to get as far as aftermarket performance goes.

any help would be appreciated, thanks

its been discussed way too many times on this forum...thats probably why you didnt get any replies.
    anyway, a search would help.
crank pulley is the only way to go currently cos the supercharger pulley has a magnetic clutch system which cannot be bypassed.

personally i feel kleemann is the only way to go but you would get differing opinions on this forum..so its your choice at the end of the day.

fuel pressure should not be a problem and an ecu tune would help extract all the extra horses, and a set of colder plugs would be great as well

The ASP crank pulley will give you 2psi over stock. if you want more then you have to make the supercharger pulley smaller. Unfortunately, nobody makes any aftermarket ones so you have to find a competent machine shop to machine the stock 94mm one to 87mm. if you combine that with the ASP crank pulley then you will be making 1bar boost. In stock configuration the blower wont be very efficient at that boost so you need to get the outlet ported to improved flow, you want to rebuilt the blower with new seals and oil while you are at it. If you combine those mods with intake, exhaust and a tune then you should be looking at around 280ish hp at the crank.

I've been so busy that I haven't had the time. I'm taking a business trip to Canada Thursday for example. I hope to do some work this winter but we will see what the future has in store.

Ok guys, i realize that i am about 10 years late on all of these mods. But oh well, trying to have a little fun with my c230k sport. I am going to be installing the asp pully when it arrives. I was wondering what "colder" spark plugs i should use? Also, i am doing the air mass relocate. Do i need to run a diff fuel pressure rgulator?

I have relocated my maf and I run the stock regulator. If you want to keep from leaning out without a retune to compensate for boost then get a higher pressure regulator. I would recommend a retune though. Our stock injectors will max out around the 1bar point. So doing both pulleys, a tune and any intake and exhaust work is about as much as you can do before you have to upgrade the fuel system.

So I should be ok with stock plugs and fuel press regulator? Thanks for the help.

At the 8psi that the asp pulley gives you? Hell yeah no problem. 8 psi is still low boost. If you mod the SC pulley as well to get 1 bar (14.7psi) then you will probably want to consider it although I would get a retune of the ecu on a dyno and see what the tuner thinks. You shouldn't need to upgrade the fuel system below 1 bar though. If you do happen to cam the engine or do anything else to improve the VE (volumetric efficiency) then I highly recommend you get new injectors, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump to make sure you are running lean.

Paul would be able to weigh in more here but I am not sure how far exactly the stock fuel system can go. Keep in mind that 1 bar boost will make the car a tire slayer with close to C43 levels of torque but thinner tires.

Installed only a 87mm pulley and relocated a MAF sensor and now you drive a different car ? No ecu remap nothing else ?

I installed the overdrive asp crank pulley, not an 87mm supercharger pulley. I also relocated the mac sensor and, yes, more power and quicker throttle response. No tune, no ecu remap. Car runs great.
