Non AMG door rubber (between door and skirt) diff from C43 models?

I'm doing a full respray/conversion from a non-AMG model to a full 43 kit conversion and was wondering if the rubber (black) part below the doors are different.

The paint shop told me when they tried fitting back the door rubber part on the lower part of the door, it won't shut because the side skirts are in the way...

    Any input?

Here's the *almost-finished* project but as you can see there's no black rubber between the door and the side skirt as it wont fit..

I can't speak directly about the C43 but when I installed a C36 kit on my 94 C280 the under door rubber was indeed different and carried with it an HWA part number. The rubber is much thinner and fills in the gap vs covering the gap

mbsickness, thanks so much for your reply. i guess that's a bingo, so i'm guessing the answer is that it's different. would you have the part number or any source I can get? i'll definitely need it to finish it off.

Here are the part numbers for the C36

    Front Left HWA 202 690 05 62
    Front Right HWA 202 690 06 62
    Rear Left HWA 202 690 07 62
    Rear Right HWA 202 690 08 62

The gap it fills is around 3/4"

Here is the profile of the flap of the AMG strip

Here is the profile of the standard 94 C280 strip

I was going to trim the original strip but got lucky and was able to get the AMG pieces. The cost of the standard strip is around $16 each and the AMG part is closer to $102.....gotta love parts with the HWA prefix.

Thank you SO much for your reply.
I did a bit of research and found out that the 36 and 43 do also have a difference in the "ledge" as they call it..
Would it be possible if you could find the part number for the 43?!

The rubber is too thick. I had a pre-update and fitted a post update skirt and had to trim the rubber to make it work. I believe the C43 will be much thicker.

I don't think trimming works in my situation.. guess I'll actually need to order the 43 ledges to make it work.. now the question is anyone have the part numbers?!

Here is a link I used to look up the C36 stuff and according to the dealer all the part numbers were accurate

    http://www.auto-parts.spb.ru/cat/cat...&client=dr2000

The C43 section seems to list the pre update moldings as the correct part and there seems to be a lack of AMG part numbers so I question it's accuracy in this case. A trip to the dealer might be in order.

Just found this WIS scan of C43 body conversion and there is no mention of changing the under door strips. On the C36 documentation it did specify the different strips so perhaps the C43 does use the standard strips.

Agree. I think it's best you get the original part for C43.

That explains why when I test fit my Brabus side skirts they did not fit. Thank you from Me also for this info.

    Thanks all for the reply.

mbsickness, have you noticed though that that link never mentioned about the side-skirt installation? perhaps that's why they didn't' mention the rubber strips..

The side molding installation is only a page and quite literally five lines of text. In any case it does look like the standard rubber strip is used if you look closely at the pictures of the C43 skirts for sale on eBay. in any regard best of luck getting everything sorted. The refresh of your car is stunning.

Once again thank you for you're reply. I guess I'll look into it more or see if I can modify the original piece and try to get it fit.

Thanks once again, I'll post pictures when it's done!
