    Engine won't start

Hello everyone, dear participants. I ask you for help!!! I have a C280 W202 1996. I took off the rear view mirror on which there is an infrared receiver. But the car can only be opened with a physical regular key. There is no remote access key. But the central locking works. So we removed the rear view mirror and put it in place. After this, the engine runs but will not start. Also, when I lock the door, the other doors and trunk and gas door won't lock. We made a diagnosis but no one can solve the problem. The masters don

What a pity that no one answered my call for help. But I will answer myself. I bought an emulator from Europe. We soldered it into the ECU. We reprogrammed it via the computer and the car started. But unfortunately there was one case when it suddenly did not start again, but after standing for an hour it started again. Someone please help us figure out our swallow once and for all to solve this problem. I beg you.

I wasn't aware anything would prevent the vehicle from running outside of the smart key / door pairing. The problem you are describing sounds similar to if an engine's sequential EFI system is unable to determine engine position. It may be worth looking to see if the crank position sensor (hall effect sensor I believe) is correctly reading the reluctor wheel. I believe in 1995 a C280 would have had the M104 and should be a 60-2 (58x) tooth reluctor wheel, and a square sine wave if you wanted to connect to an oscilloscope. Long story short, you should also see RPM when cranking, if an ECU does not it often will not start and may be a coincidence if your emulator ECU trick is currently effective.
