Gas gauge acting weird...

my gas gauge has been acting weird lately...i fill it up with gas, start the car, its on full...then i drive about 20 miles and its says i have 3/4 left on the tank....then when i get to 50 miles it says i have a little over 1/2...then when i get to 80 miles, it starts to go back up...i reach 90 miles, it's almost full....happened to me two fill ups already.....

has your W202 done this before? should i change the gas gauge sending unit? dont know how much its gonna cost...any idea???

mine started acting weird when it was replaced. it'll be fine for a few weeks then start acting up for one tank. then it's fine again. i'm too lazy to bring it back to the dealer. i just keep track of the the mileage to be safe.
