    Questions on the C36

Hello All, I have just aquired a 96 c36 and I am trying to find out some information on these cars. The original monoblock rims have curbrash and I was thinking of replacing them with the newer AMG rims with the thinner spokes (as seen on the SLK and older CLK's)...will these rims fit? Also I remember back in 1995 the C36 I saw at the local dealeship had "carbon fiber" trim around the shifter and radio. Was this a standard item on the C36? I have seen a few C36 and C43's and they all have the wood. Finally, it seems the European versions produced more horsepower...what caused the increase or decrease in my case. Thanks in advance.

Those should fit just fine (the 17")

You have to do the conversion. from the factory, all C36 come with walnut wood. I converted the wood trim to carbon fiber trim to my '97 C36. You could try to find some Carbon Fiber kit on ebay.

I never know that the european model has more horsepower. The newer ('97) C36 does have more horsepower than the older ('95-'96) model.

I would think that catalytic converters were the main reason for hp differences.

Don't euro's use a different RON or MON rating? Something about how you can set the computer to think it's running a higher octane?

    cian36n,

Those are exactly the wheels that I want to get as they update the look while not losing the agressive look of the car (at least in my opinion).
