Yep, cut a notch on the dust cover to feed the wire.
Hello Everyone,
I'm new here so I tried the search and didn't find
any details on this subject but I was wondering
if anyone has experience with installing an
aftermarket HID Xenon Kit on their car? I've
got a 97 c280 sport and on the back of the
headlight assembly there is a black plastic
cover that covers the bulbs. Wondering if
anyone modified this to feed the wires to
the ballasts? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.
Thanks,
R

Thanks... any danger of moisture getting in there or is it truly just a dust cover..

If you cut it on the lower portion say at about 7 o'clock you should be fine.
But it also does seal from moisture from getting in there. You could after you cut a notch on the inside glue some rubber from an old intertube in its place to act like a sheild.
When I used to run these types of lights I did not notice any moisture getting in the headlights from the notch I made.

Just make sure it's sealed in the end because moisture can get trapped and burn out your bulb...
