Routing Cables
hi, im going to be fitting a sub box and amp to the merc in the next few days and wondered where most people route the cables?
Normally run them down the sides but just wondered what you lot do?
-
run them down the sides...they tuck right under the door sills. its pretty hard getting all the wires through the seat to the trunk though.
-
Do i want to take the Sill covers off? they are on clips from what i gather any way they come off or just give em a tug?.
-
make sure you run all the rca's through the passener side, because the battery cable is on the drives side and if run them on that side you'll get unwanted engine and back ground noise. goos luck and let us know how it turns out with pics if possible. :bunny:

yep will do cheers for the help.
-
oh yeah you do want to take the sills off, also when running the wires becarful w/ the yellow tubes. the back seat needs to come off as well.
-
yeah i want to route the cables well out of the way so im guessing that i need to take the sill covers off and put the wires either under the carpet or is a channel for them to go in?
Do the covers just prize off?

huh?
do you mean "pry off"?

Just pry off the door sills, they have 3 clips for the front door sills and 2 clips for the rear door sills.
Also, The back seat is really easy to take off. You pop the bottom piece by pushing the switch(underneath the seat, 1 on each side).
The upper piece is held by 3 screws at the bottom of it. Locate them and loosen the screws. Once it's done, push the piece UP and then pull.
