    I have a C36 5 speed manual transmission

    I just bought a C36 5 speed manual transmission with 82 k miles.
It has 260 HP that´s what it says in the front (beacause 87 octane gas in Mexico at that time).
A year ago more or less they took the catalyist away, do you think that will give me more HP?
I want to put a power chip Gold 93. How much power do you think it will increase?
What other things will you recomend for my car power?

Interesting, hope it's not rebadge engineering haha.

Where you from and was the 5 speed manual an aftermarket product or did it come from the factory like that?

there are alot of big and little things you can do to increase performance. the most common ones would be the chip, cold air intake, nicely tuned exhaust. after you have installed these parts, then you can go with bigger fuel injectors, preferably accel, this site can help you select the right size for your car:
    http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm
then, you will need better spark plugs and wires. I prefer beru silverstone or ultra-x spark plugs, and stay away from those platinum plugs, they will destroy your engine. as for the spark plug wires, go with either www.magnecor.com or www.kingsborne.com . you can also get the fuel magnets, they just snap over your feeder fuel line, they can increase your gas mileage and maybe give you little more power. then, you can get a ground wire kit, www.arospeed.com or www.hksusa.com or www.sunautomobile.com are good ones. also, replace all the fluids with the synthetic ones. check out my post on the best oils and additives:

and then, if you have the money, you can install a supercharger. there are more things you can do, but I just cant remember right now.

no, I'm not. I know everyone is saying that the magnets are BS, but I can say from experience thats BS. they dont give you tremendous gas mileage improvements as some of them claim, but as I said in few of my other posts, I saw improvements of about 15% in my gas mileage and little bit better throttle responce. I do have, however, three magnets on my fuel line, instead of two,as recommened my the manufacturer.

To make a MB go faster, Cost to Performace ratios make it too costly.

How does transmission type relate to emissions regs?

Renntech I believe does offer a 6 speed manual conversion or you could have probably ordered one special order from AMG directly. Would that count as a factory car?

It is a C 36 with 5 speed manual transmission

Hey guys. Yes, I have a C36 with 5 speed manual transmission but it didn´t came from the factory like that. I am the second owner of the car, the first one ( owner of the Mercedes dealer where I live, MEXICO ) had a lot of chances to try and try with many manual transmissions and other parts until the car was perfect.
I bought the car like a month ago, I like it a lot, it is a very fast car and comfortable to drive.
I´m going to take some pics.
I´ll let you know what I´ll do with the thermostat and everything else.
    Thanks
