the first one is a stock mercedes radio/tape deck. it came with every mercedes made between 1992(?) and 1997(?). the second one is an aftermarket stereo, alpine from what i can make out of the picture.
Why do some C280's have this center control panel
(this one has leather i assume its an elegance 1995)

While other C280's have these controls above the tape/cd deck

Im trying to decipher firstly the difference between the controls and secondly which C280's have these, Classic, SportLine or Elegance or simply feature of year 95 or 96.
Anyone like to chirp in?
best

Thank u for the concise replies.
Like what others have said... it just depends on the model year when Mercedes changed the HVAC controls. I believe after 1996 it has the newer updated controls.
