Leave C43 badge or use C55 badge

I have the 5.5L motor in my C43. I'm wondeing if i should:

    1. leave the C43 badge on the car(sleeper)

    2.Debadge the car entirely

3.Put a C55 badge on the car in place of the C43 badge.

    What do you guys suggest?

I would leave the C43 just because if you changed it to C55 most people would think it the equivilent of a "R" badge......

Debadge the car to have an absolute sleeper, or keep the C43 badges and freak out the new 55 owners when you meet them on the road.

I need to talk to you about those engines you know of.

    Thanks

    I'm with the de-badge people.
    Or, maybe..........a C 250 D badge?
Yes, I have a few mods, but they\'re so discrete, my wife hasn\'t noticed them.

    put it on!

If people ask you if there is such a thing as C55 then
tell them "Sure there is, you're looking at it"

c230k or c55, something about a c55 that will get them looking, plus everytime you see that c55 amg, you will think how much of a bad ass car you have...........

I think you should leave the badges on the car. Whether you want to beleive it or not many of us would love to have even a stock C43. They are definitely limited edition and it would not hurt to keep it as stock as possible.

If you had a real '67 shelby mustang would you debadge it?

No you would probably make it faster and stop better and try to preserve as of the authentic parts in it to make it match.

Remember a C43 has some history to it

The C36 was the first Diamler Benz to be released of the production line with the AMG name and specs The C43 was the second iteration released along with the E55. I would not want to spoil all of that.

You are right and I will most probably keep the C43 badges on for authenticity and stealth mode.I think the surprise element against other cars would be fun.I do know a guy who owned a E36 318i back in 94 who put a S38 M5 engine in it and kept the 318i badges on.The car was extremely fast and stealthy! The Idle sound from the muffler kinda gave some a puzzled look.

    Debadge I say!

I say C55 badging all the way. Debage and you have to blow someone's doors off for anyone to wonder what unusual generator you might have under the cover. Wear the badge and just watch the -respect- come your way while you're simply cruising w/o haven't to show off.

I'd also badge it C55, you got the motor. Why not?
