Post Pics--> Before and After Cutting my H&R's

I have H&R non-progressive with Bilstein sports and had only the front cut 1/2 a coil and the cut was made from the bottom of the spring. I kept the #2 pads in front and #3's in back. I plan to go lower than this later, but for now it's fine. My cost of labor was $80. I plan to do it myself from now on.

If you have any comments or questions they are welcome. Please excuse the crappy paint on the front bumper, this is being re-done. Later, Scott

Yeah, now that I know what to expect, it will be easier when I cut next....maybe we could do it when I get there? I'm thinking cut another half a coil for a total of one coil cut, and then change out my front pads from #2's to #1's. That would be way low, probably causing me to go to 205's in front. If I'm steping up to 18's any time soon, this will be too low because of the front angle of my fender. I would either just go to #1 pads or cut again and have to mod my fenders.

I suggest you keep the way it is now because the road in SF is pretty Hilly and not friendly for "slam to the ground" kind of cars.
Why don't you try the black 18x8 that I have and see if you like it.

scott if you planning to go 18" then don't do anything yet..
put the 18" first with the proper tire size then do the cut

Man, you know damn well if I get those on my car they aren't coming off....you know....once you go black you don't go back...haha

J: I agree man...I'm not going lower until I get to SF. Probably leave it because the car's fenders are level to the ground now.

I have h&r on my 201 with #3 up front and #2 out back but I have like no gap on the front.

When I ran #1 all around every speed bump I would hit no matter how slow or angle i was going.

Why are you having to slice and dice?

As you can see from the picture the rears are still higher but with #1 they sat even. I am thinking of raising the car up a bit as its still catches on certain types of hills.

    Joey-
The 2.6 H&R and 2.3 H&R springs are really different. All of the 2.6's seem nicely slammed where the 2.3's are high in the front. I think it has to do with the extra weight of the engine although you could not run 2.3 springs because there is a difference in the two of course. I doubt it helps that mine is a standard tranny, less weight. For a while I thought I might have 2.6 springs, but I checked the part numbers.
Anyway, you just have the normal red H&R's right, you don't have the cup kit do you, because that is really low from the get go.

Also, what shocks are you running?

--Steve, correct me if I'm wrong here...you had 2.3 if I remember right?

I used to have a 201. You need taller rims. Go 19's and run 215/35/19's and run #1 pads all the way around.

    Instant poon.
