    Super Chargeing A C280

so I have decided if am going to keep this car I need more power I was thinking about putting a vortec style supercharger on it. The only issuse i can think of is lowering the compression. but is this nessary because mosselman turbo kit comes with nothing to lower the compression ?

A lot of people say they are going to supercharge their C280 yet no one has done it. You dont need to lower compression if you run low psi.

    Exactly.
Rule of thumb: If you don't exceed 6 p.s.i. boost, lowering of the compressions should not be required.
Yes, I have a few mods, but they\'re so discrete, my wife hasn\'t noticed them.

We had someone post a pic of some South African C280 that was supercahrged with I think a one-off supercharger kit made by some company called Bluebird or something like that. It was a nice looking car.

But club202 gets weekly posts about someone wanting to know about supercharging a C280 so I will do the life cycle of this post that is inevitable...

"I would like to supercharge my C280"

"They dont make a supercharger for the C280"

"Have you considered Mosselman turbo kit for C280"

    "Mosselman is too expensive"

"Then custom make a supercharger for the C280"

    "Okay, whats involved?"

"Well, you'll need bla bla bla"

"How much power will that make?"

    "Bla bla horsepower"

"You know, you should just sell your C280 instead of spending the many thousands it would take to custom make a supercahrger for it and spend the sale money and the money you are saving by not making a one-off superczahrger kit for it and buy a C36 instead and have more power and reliability"

"Yes I agree, nevermind the supercharging idea. Thanks anyway"

I was just making the comment that it can be done and i have a pic of one if he would like 2 see?

As just said, it is not easy to do Dr.Drew
and 200hp goal is a bit rediculus. full new internals would be needed for that. possibly 50-100hp is the only gain to be expected on standard internals
expect 10-20K$ for one that can do that

supercharging a 104 would be quite easy. If I could build a SC setup on my 328is 4 years ago, when I was just a beginner tech, and those who have bimmers know how compact and complicated those bitches are to work on, then everyone with little skill can do it. If I get another C280 or any other 104 powered benz, SC is inevitable.

As promised here are those pics, i just had to go and look for the link again.
And it is actually in a 190e they have put a newer m104 c36 motor in and then supercharged it but it just shows how they did it working with probebly less space than what we have to with the w202

hopefully this guy doesnt mind me using the links,
but big credit to his job!!!
this is the site where they are:
