I'd just get a new deck, cheaper then a changer, and sounds better. no need for a rack the deck should just slide into the existing radio slot. SEARCH, there are many tutorials on here. you'll just need to but the stuff and plug and play.

had the same problem, heres what I did,

this was before I understood anything about installing car audio, I just took it to a place like circuit-city and bought a Sony cd player, and let them install everything, they included the deck (DUHH) the installation, wire harness, and the trim around to make it look perfect.

now if i want - I can just plug my old deck back in no problem.

Work around the stock unit...nothing worse than aftermarket in a Benz esp a head unit radio!!

If you have BOSE even better. To enhance the sound even MORE add a sub and amp, thats the only aftermarket I have in my car but no choice.

I did the same thing + a 12 CD Changer in the Back replacing the original Bose CD Changer.

I've moved it to the proper forum "Electronic Upgrade"

to answer the original question I agree with 714Guy...

if you have older headunit, might as well get a new headunit.
They're nowadays pretty affordable and many selection to pick from...

The upside the headunit will sounds better than the OEM headunit...

But if you want to use your old headunit, there is always aftermarket adapter to fit aftermarket CD-Changer with existing OEM headunit. You might want to browse to Crutchfield website or do a search on the internet... as there a few company that makes this type adapter.

yea if you want to use your old headunit, you can add an amp by using an adapter called a Hi low converter. You just tap the wires into your stock harness, the adapter itself has RCA outputs so you can hook up your amp to it.
