Oh boy. By the very least, it could be a blow shock, bad spring, bent sway bar and a cracked control arm but my guess is as good as anyone's. A picture will help.
Last night was raining and did a 360 hitting the curve with the rear wheel. The result is more than a damaged rim. The wheel sits in a 10 degree angle, I can notice that the rear right side is lowered, even if tire is not flat. I made is home slow even if I noticed the grinding sound (of a bearing?). I don't think I can drive it like this to a shop, would cause more damage.
Where do I start to fix this and what would you estimate the cost? I assume there are a few parts that need to be replace, not familiar with the suspension system at all, should I try to fix it by myself? I don't even know what parts to order.

pics would surely help... but it could be suspension related..
Man a pic would be awsome!! Alot of thigns could be broke to give a 10 degree +/- angle!! Trust me The folks in here can give a ton of help!!! It sounds rough!! Alot of things can be broken!! Is the drive shaft broke? Is the independant suspension broke?? Is the shock broke?? Is the independant suspensions arms broke?? Alot of If's! If you can post some more info I'll pour all the info to ya I can. Just A little more info please!! Hope to hear soon!
Was gonna jack the car yesterday but the jack lost the hydraulic fluid, so I lost a day... I was finality able to get some pictures:
^this arm should be straight .. its almost 90 degrees! OMG !!
The leak is water collected in the engine splash guard after rain
The guy who fixed my transmission a couple months ago told me to tow the car to his shop ($80) so he can evaluate better the damage.
The only way I can save money is have him fix it if he would allow me to shop online for the parts so I don't pay the full price for parts at dealership. I don't think I am able to fix it by myself. Its my first car, love it, worth $2K on KBB , I am aware that I can spend another 2K to fix this.. the other option is to give it to a junk yardI would cry. Just fixed the front bumper a week ago.

My guess in parts prices from pic and pull would be between 250-500 dollars at the most!! If you got some metric wrenchs' and sockets I don't see why you could not remove the broke parts and replace them yourself. If an entire engine goes for 350$ suspension parts are less. Just find a scrapped 202 and pull the parts yourself and save some cash and get some more hands on!
i been to a couple junkyards in south florida, an year ago, couldn't find any w202 that time in their yards. I just called the towing guy :/ I would have a hard time fixing this by myself, plus could be more parts involved than we can see in the pics. I order 3 for example, start working on it, than I would realize that i need 2-3 more, wait again for shipping. Would be without a car a long time. Now, I have to cross my fingers and see what the shop will say. Will keep you posted , thanks . Being on a budget, the advice that I would still need , is at what point do I say YES to the shop, and where do I say RIP to my car, calling a junkyard. Will see how much time I have to decide at the shop.
At what point? Check the blue book value on the car. If the bb says car value is 3,800$ then invest 500-800$. On a 2,000$ purchase with 500-800 investment. Total of 2,800 / 3,000$. You can still turn a profit if you decide to sell.
KBB is $2150 for fair condition, $2750 for good condition ('97 c230 w/ 235000miles) .
We counted like 5-6 parts that needs to be replaced, a few of them might be able to be straighten out. Tomorrow morning he will take the parts out and we will know exactly. He will tell me how much the parts cost, if he has to order them from his supplier, and give me the parts numbers for me to check the prices online in case I want to get them online if the prices will be much cheaper. The towing guy said he would give me 4-500 for the car - as it is .
Don't you dare give it to any body for that price!!!!!!! Dude it's paid for!!! If the mechanic will let you find the parts we all can help locate some items!!
South Florida ok!! Will search fir the parts you need tell what is needed!!!! Don't throw your cash out the window! !!! You have a reliable car one of the best!!!! Unless you gonna upgrade then the dealer will give you more than that driver!!!!!
When he takes them off say I want them put back on!! You could at least drive it!!!! Your killing me!!
Bud just posted in the boka. Room calling for all! Please have a little patience this room has been the best for me and the reviving of my 96 c280! Helped me thru a head gasket change and a ton of other things! Got a thread in performance check it out. C280 head work! Hang tight ! That repairman sees $$$$ cause it a merc! And tell the driver to f off!! You can make more if you decide to upgrade!!
I live in the Florida panhandle! ! There are 2 202 bodies in panama city pic and pull! ! I've pulled parts off if and never touched the rear ends! All 's their!!
F
And they are on line!! Check inventory!
Matter if fact there are more Mercedes in miamia than you can shake a stick at!! Their gotta be a to n of yards their!!

With a hit that hard, the sub-frame tabs may be bent. I would pull the entire rear suspension, including sub-frame, and both left and right suspension. Remove the drive shaft, exhaust, and the four sub-frame bolts. There may be other items which may need to be removed, but I cannot remember. Replace the entire rear suspension, and hit the alignment shop. This is the way I repaired my 190e when my brother drove it and lost a rear wheel (and overheated the engine, needing a new head). The left rear suspension was ground away, as he decided not to stop for the officers. Took me a long time to get her running again.

True. However the control arm may have already been weakened by corrosion. If so, it might not have been that hard a hit. Trying to stay positive for you
