Not sure if this was refuted-I didn't read the whole thread-but with just a basic understanding of physics I know this is wrong.......simply lowering your centre of gravity. there is no increased stiffness, there is no increased cornering.
Lowering the center of gravity absolutly helps cornering ability.
Take a look at Formula I race cars. It's not just for areodynamics that they are so low to the ground.
