Anyone try shoe polish on tire walls?

I found this thread on mbworld about a guy who used black shoe polish on his tires. http://www.mbworld.org/forums/showth...ht=shoe+polish

He says it works pretty good and keeps the tires looking new. Anyone ever try it?

This pic of the tire was taken about 2 weeks or so after he put on the shoe polish before he cleaned his tire.

I remeber looking at some site or soemthing advertising this Tire Gel that keeps the tire black and looking "new". Forgot where though.

What do you guys used for tire cleaner/tire shine? I use some tire cleaner that shines from Costco. That shit sucks, slings all over the car. On my last bottle and looking for a new brand. I used to have this purple bottle that that was spray on shine. Worked pretty nice but it faded pretty quick.

i used this expensive mguires shit with adjustable nozzle on my last set of rims (for the f150).

it made the tires look fucking awesome, but as mentioned, it slung black shit all over the (white) truck and made it look retarded.

armor all just came out with a tire gel, they have it at target thats what i use and it works great -- even comes with a sponge for application

Drivers are using this method in the army for their cars... I was one of them. For those who dont know in Greece we HAVE to serve our country and we become soldiers for 12 months. When I went, it was 14 anyway .

yeah same thing from were i come from, but instead its for 2 years....and its only if you have a brother, anyways i dont know about shoe polish, these things attract dust and dirt...i would just use a regular spray on solution like i do right now after every wash...

For tire cleaning i use Menzerna Gel 7.5 Tire & Wheel Cleaner:

For the dressing i use BLACKFIRE Long Lasting Tire Gel

The cleaner works pretty well and the dressing is good but doesnt last that long. it doesnt spary all over your car when your driving either.

2 seperate sprays, my spary combines the two togather, cleaner and gives it that black charcol look
