    HIDS Plus Headlights

I Saw These On eBay And Was Thinking It Might Be A Good Deal. Has Anyone ever Seen These Before? The Price Seems Pretty Good If Its All Legit.

Looks like a good price at $88, but $85 for shipping? I'd have to pass or tell him the gold plated-diamond encrusted shipping box isn't necessary!

I believe it's coming from HK that's why the shipping cost is sky
high. It look's like it's for a ricer car...

    watch out.

they are 6 DIN. American/Canadian cars are 4 DIN
You will also need to purchase a converter which are prettty cheap.

In the title of your thread you say 'HIDS'. Just making sure you know those are not HIDS. Good price.....Tell them you will pick them up!

The discription says they have ballasts and in one of the pictures you can see the ballast. If they have ballasts they are more than likely true HIDs...unless the guy put a fake ballasts on there...?

Dooh! I stand corrected. Is there really much of a difference between Xenon and Halogen though, without the projectors?

I ask this because I have had a conversion kit sitting in my garage that I was going to use for some foglights on my old car. Is it worth the install?

yes there is a HUGE difference between HIDs and halogen even without projectors...all the projector really does is aim the light and create a horizontal cutoff line of the light.

where the hell do you live in?? did you even think of how much rain/water is needed to go BEHIND your headlight under the hood and right into the headlight housing ??

I dont even see that as a problem, sure they could have made it cleaner looking by drilling a hole and all, but not buying the headlight only because of this is just pathetic and picky.

Even Better, OC, I Give You Permission To Just Post Them Here In My Thread.

So The Wire Coming Through The Bottom Of The Housing Shouldn't Be A Problem? Other Than Them Fogging Up I Don't Have Much To Worry About?

I think I would personally, tap a hole through the plastic back plate and run a wire through. The silicone the hole closed with the wire in it. I think you should be fine.

jstrat85, how was the beam pattern with those HID kits?

I know you didn't get yours directly from hk-plus, but were they the same as:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-00...8453QQtcZphoto
    ?

I understand that many cheap HID kits basically put HID bulbs into Halogen type reflectors, and the HID light is poorly focused and offensive to oncoming traffic, if not even illegal. I know that the OEM HID/Xenons have a very sharp cutoff pattern to not blind oncoming traffic (as my C280 Sport has them), and I'd like to get the same or similar effect on my C43 that came with Halogens.

And since you replaced them with projectors, do you have your crystal sets available?

    Thanks.
