    turbo on a C280? or m104?

there is a Bi-turbo kit out there by mosselman and i was thinking is there any other way to boost my motor?
has anybody made there own kit or even just have one turbo on a c280

our cars are dif that then others like c180, c200, c220, c230 cause they are all 4 cyl cars with one exhaust manifold...us guys with the C280 or C36 have a M104 motor which is an inline 6 and we have 2 exhaust manifolds. would there be a way to connect the manifolds ( headers)or connect the pipping behind it with one turbo?

i dont have much money and i know i cant afford a mosselman kit( think they were like 3-5k )

how much is the mosselman kit anyway?

maybe i should just save up my pennies and actually get the mosselman kit or a new car ( c43 or something newer)

    any suggestions or insight?

I think a lot of topics have been written about M104 turbo, but nobody ever did it. The impression I got from reading the topics is that it's too much hassle and probably not worth it. I personally think you should do exactly what you said about saving your money and buying a more powerful car. Plus I'm not sure how well the M104 will stand up to a turbo, given the very common head gasket problems that engine has. I had to change my head gasket, and now I might even have to change my wiring harness, and that's definitely a known problem with 91-95 M104 engines.

there are a few out there. As far as the headgasket goes I thought the only issue was they leaked oil. I dont see how that would interfere with a turbo.

There was a MB dealer in England selling twin turbo kits made by a company called Turbo Technics. They had kits for the 103 and 2 versions for the 104 engines. Hp claims for the 104 engines was 345. I have a kit that I plan on putting on my w124 cabrio. One guy put the kit on a 103 engine and started with just shy of 300hp. He updated some of the plumbing and filters and say he's in the 310hp range. He is in the high 5 second range on 0-60 runs.
The kits were NOS and were being dumped for 1000 UK pounds.

boosting your car has a lot of hidden cost that will make the turbo not worth it. the mosselman turbo kit itself is around 6 k. and unless you plan to install it yourself, installation will be pretty expensive too. if youre lucky you can turbo your car for 8k. but if shit breaks, be prepared to spend over 10k.

so is spending almost 10k ( which is pretty optimistic ) on performance mods in this relatively cheap old car worth it?

i dont know. even with the turbo, alot of new cars will still spank you.

    3" mandrel bent exhaust
    front mount intercooler
    larger injectors
    piggyback computer

keep watching round here an ill do a full write up,

and as advised your more than welcome to go out an buy a faster factory car, but then how cool n unique would that be
