1-2 shift seems more like 1000rpm difference, is this what you would call a transmission "Flare"
Hey, so usually when i put my foot to the floor my 94 c280 will rev all the way to redline and then shift. Today i was driving it and it seemed to shift like 500-750rpm before redline. Kinda weird. in normal driving the trans shifts fine nothing seems wrong. Only at WOT.
I recently adjusted the throttle cable because for the longest time i had play in the pedal, this got rid of it. after the problem started i put it back to where it was but there was no change in shift points.
another thing(sorry, lol) i was on 676 in philly before it started acting up and my hand slipped on the gear shift and popped it into 2nd accidentally, which in turn revved it all the way up, not to the point of the engine cutting out but pretty high.
My friend thinks it could be like a spring or valve body in the trans. I also recently put on a K and N CAI. maf?
Any info would be great
the car has 142000mi.

It could be one or more of the things you mentioned. You need to go to the w202 forum at Benzworld and read up on CJShade's posts about adjusting his transmission.

Look up B2 piston problems. A relatively simple repair that a DIY can do.
thanks xvvvx, i did some investigating of cjshades posts. I'm pretty sure that adjusting the throttle cable also messes with the Bowden cable. I will see if i can get the cable back to the exact position it was at before.
I guess in order to remove slack from the pedal, you would need to adjust the throttle "and" the Bowden cable. hopefully tommorow i will be able to see if i can fix it.
I'll report back with my findings. Let me remind myself to not touch this car, if it works fine just leave it alone!!

i think i fixed it. I adjusted the Bowden Cable( which was a pain in the ass) and now it seems to be shifting fine, must of stretched or something.
