I to have a 96 C280 and yes the 95s do in fact use an M104 Inline 6 Although i do believe obd2 wasnt introduced yet so the 95s are presumably obd1
Morning all. Having trouble finding the proper bolts for my 1996 c280 104. Found these #'s in benz world. Cam cap bolt #120-990-02-21, and gear bolt # 120-990-02-4, They are for a 1995 c280. Will these work with mine. They are located at parts.com. But not in the engine break down chart. Can only be found by entering the part # manually. Are the motors the same for a 95@96 c280? Being the inline 6. Thanks All.

my 94 C280 is OB2, it wasnt required until 96, though some companies started earlier.

You're 94 is "obd2 compliant" not full OBD2 that was not required/ fully implemented until 1996. 95 was the transition year for W202 to full obd2. But you're codes can be read with the obd2 scanner as i believe being partial obd2 you have the 38 pin diagnostic port under the hood as well as the OBD2 port under the dash correct ??
my 95 is obd2
never seen the 38 pin diag port, where would that be located, i always use the ob2 under the dash.

Yeah, I believe you are correct. We early birds are not truly obd2 just close. For most purposes, one would never notice a difference. There are some things which are not available or supported when using a quality scanner. SD202 might be talking about that circular plug up there. Haven't counted the pins though.
