    Smile About Climate Control

The climate control unit on my 2000 C230 is acting up. Even if I turn off the fan it still blows cold air like if it were set on the 3rd speed. I push the EC button and it remains lit even when it's on the Off position. I have to turn the knob to 1 and set it back to 0 so it can finally stop the fan. I'm thinking of buying a new Climate Control unit. So my question is, can I replace my current unit for a digital one? Like the ones that came in some of the earlier models. Would it be just a plug and play procedure or is it much complicated?

Any help, or suggestions will be much appreciated, Thanks.

if EC is always lit there is a problem with your AC system its a precaution the car takes, will not turn on ac without it working properly

If I remember correctly the wiring for the digital is different than yours,so I do not believe it would be just a plug and play situation.

It blows both ambient and cold. It seems it has a mind of its own.

It sounds like the a/c controler/push button. When that thing messes up it has a mind of its own. Blower speed will change, temp will change...
