Damn - now the key won't turn in the ignition

So after getting so much done yesterday, I come out this morning to drive the car, and the key won't turn in the ignition. Nothing happens when I try to turn it, it won't budge. I tried the thing I saw on the internet on search - point the key at the rear view mirror, hit the unlock button twice, and inset the key in the ignition for a while. Nothing changes. When I point the key at the rear view mirror and push the unlock button, I hear a clunk every time I hit the unlock button, and both green arrow directional signals on the instrument panel blink. Clearly, at least by push button, the key is communicating with the car, the battery isn't dead, and the key battery is alive as well.

Damn, I hope I don't need this EIS computer, or whatever it's called. That's apparently going for twice the price of what I paid for the car.

    Any ideas, anyone?

Your key is dead or you need an EIS.

FYI, keys aren't reprogrammable, only can be bought new from dealership. I don't know why some clowns are selling used Mercedes keys still.
