Re-gluing wood door trim
So, I'm replacing the wood trim on my right front door panel, the part I bought off eBay was starting to separate, so I finished the job. Now I want to re-glue the wood back onto the metal, but the wood has changed shape a little over the years and doesn't fit perfectly on the metal piece.
Before I start gluing and clamping, will the resin covering the wood soften enough if I apply heat to it (hair dryer, heat gun, oven, etc) enough to form back onto the metal door plate for a secure fit?
I just want to soften it a little without damaging it.
Thank you
