c36 kit on a 99?
i have a 99 c280 and want to put on the c36 kit instead of the c43 kit. Can this be done without any mods?? I read that in order to put a c43 kit on a before 98 model, you have to mod the brackets to make the c43 kit fit. So .... this would mean that to put a c36 kit on a after 98 model you would have to adjust the brackets as well.???
thanx!

yeah just run a search .. its been discussed somewhere already. i believe the upper portion your model updated bumber must be modded to fit the lower portion of the C36 kit. thats the jist of it. but its somewhere in detail. trust me.

You're going to need pairs of brackets in the front and back in order for the C36 bumpers to be properly installed. Unfortunately, I don't have the part numbers, but any body shop familiar with benzes should know what to get. I believe the brackets are about $12.50 each from the dealership. Hope this helps, good luck.

You don't like the updated C43 kit?

i have a black 280 sport wiht black interior. Ya i think imma gonna go with the c 43 kit. I like 36 kit cuz its more boxy (i think it flows better with the body), plus it appears more aggressive.
at first i thought the 43 kit made the car look like a boat! haha .. but i like it more now.
besides i really don't want to mod anything to put the 36 bumpers on....
the cheapest i found for the authentic 43 kit was $2200 (plus shipping). Is this about right?
