    Front wheel greese caps

Hi guys iv just fitted 19'axis wheels and on the front wheels iv found the MB symbol does not fit right in,the greese cap is about 3mm to far out.

    Has anyone had this problem??

I thought i might pull out the hammer and fix it but if someone has a better idea??

Im pretty sure its not a good idea to remove the cap.
    ie dust + greese.

    thanks

There is NO WAY you should ever run without the grease caps.
Everytime you wash your wheels, you WILL get water in there & destroy your wheel bearings.
Yes, I have a few mods, but they\'re so discrete, my wife hasn\'t noticed them.

add a spacer 5 mm. that should solve it.

I agree...do not run without grease caps. I just modified my center cap to fit by removing the steel ring that is behind the center cap and it fit.

thanks guys guess i will try to modify the MB cap to suit.

maybe in some of the earlier models the cap was different,or the bearing was'nt an open type.

    Thanks

with the wheel on..its not exposed...and there is no way water or dirt is gonna get in there...the center bore and the hub match up perfectly and with the rims center cap on, i doubt anything will get in there

You WILL ruin the bearings prematurely.
Unless you have some kind of gasket or O-ring, there is water & dirt getting to the bearings, past your center-cap of the wheels.
Like I said before, just pull a wheel sometime & have a look.
While you have the wheel off, pour some water in the hole where the center-cap is & see if it stays there, or for how long.
That will tell you how good of a seal you have.

Last nite I pulled off the greese bearing cap,
it seems if i chuck it in a lathe an take 3mm
off the base of the cap,it will fit back on just fine without hitting the locking nut,and the MB symbol will fit as well.
