so i was a dumbass and ran out of gas on my c43 jus 3 blocks away from a gas station, it managed to get me there but was drivng really rough. i fill her up all the way and the car starts bogging like its about to die again and a check engine light comes on. after a while the car starts to idle fine and drives like normal but the check engine light is still on.
the manual says the light will turn off if the problem goes away for 3 cycles, what are these cycles??? did i fuck up my engine??? my car runs like normal i jus dunno whats wrong. any help?

you probably had missfire codes (rough running) and thats why your check engine light was on.. I think by 3 cycles.. they mean 3 key cycles.. so off, then started, then off then started.. so on.

i did the same thing in my car. i had the light reset and it was okay after that.

you have to reset your trip counter everytime you fill up. you will always know how many miles you traveled and approx how many you have left.Originally posted by 99amgc43
