oil change and xx,xxx mile tuneup?

alright i've just about hit 3,000 miles. where do I take the car for an oil change? can i just bring it to any local place or do I have to bring it to mercedes. if i do have to bring it to mercedes, whats the costs?

i'm at nearly 66,000 miles. i've read up on this "a and b" 60,000 service. i dont think my dad (previous owner) had this done. is it important to have done? what does it entail.

for just an oil change.. I wouldnt take it to just any shop to have things done.. Im sure some of the guys in here could recommend an independant shop that knows Benz..
if you take it to mercedes dealer.. your looking at about .6 hours of labour (times shop rate) on a lube service, plus the cost of oil and filter.
maybe $60-70.. not too sure though.

as for the flex A and B services.. these are expensive to get done at the dealer!.. looking at around $200 for an A service and $300 for B service plus whatever extras you may need.
the B service is the "major" service.
they are important to have done.. but most of the things involved with either service is related to inspecting every component on the car, as well as oil and filter changes.
depending on mileage you may need extras like spark plugs, coolant replacement, brake fluid replacement.. so on.
everything is listed in the owners manual with regards to when mercedes recommends replacing things... spark plugs, fuel filters..and whatnot.

depending on the year of your W202, you may or may not require the A and B services. The 1998 and newer cars use the FSS system.. the 1997 and older cars dont use this method to dictate when services should be done, but do go by the amount of miles you have.. each service for that is listed in you owners manual too.

do the oilchanges your self. it's pretty easy. i do it my self and save a bunch. IMO, it's the easiest car to do an oilchange on.
reason being the oilfilter is easy to work with, less mess. .
    get a benz oil filter (10 bucks), 7 qt's of oil (C220), (2 bucks a qt for mobil 5k).

oh, is changing the oil on this the same as any other car? if it is, i have no problem doing it myself. i was just curious as if i'd need any special tools, or parts.

hey, ok the only specail parts u need (compared to a toyota/honda) is 2 more qt's of oil.

ok well i have a cap to open the oil filter cap. (it's on the right side of the oil filler cap) (oil filter from autozone or dealer comes with a new gasket for the cap and a new drain plug washer)

other than that, a #13 for the bolt. remember not to over tighten the bolt, i've done that, not pretty. i got lucky

just tighten it sligthly after it stops turning.
fill up to 6 qts, and it might take 1/2 qt to 3/4 more.

    i use mobile 5k 10w30, change it at 3k

... and since you are beginner, I would highly recommend get yourself used to with the torque wrench. The torque on the oil drain plug is 22lbs.
