That is not it. We are talking about the little plastic plugs with a picture of a key on it that you put in your door lock.
I'll shoot a picture of it on my car. But its a common thing on MLs.
Dealers give them out for free if you ask.

If you look at the 'side profile' pic of my car in the gallery, you will see a 'black dot' (if you will) on the door handle, THAT is the plug

It's the right P/N. If you have a good rapport with your sales/parts dept, they will give them to you for free...
These little things are a pain in the ass for me though. You see, I lost my second key and I need to use the spare to get in/out of my car. With the spare, you need to use the key in order to get in. Imagine that, I have to manually lock/unlock my car instead of pressing a button...
