well whats the c43 book value, and make sure you get a mechanic to check it out, for any previous accidents and buy its carfax history before you do anything, oh and in lebanon i paid for my car $18,000 and its a 230 only, so if i was u i would buy that c43 and i would not even think about it...but thats in lebanon, check with members in the state for the prices,

I know the values will be different dependant on country but if it helps that about what I paid for my 1999 C43 Touring. (Wagon). If it was in the UK I would say that is a fair price. Not cheap but with that waranty its worth paying more for the piece of mind.

I'd run a carfax report, if it comes back without any problems I'd buy the hell out of it. I paid $22,000 for a 5 year old C280.

You know what the blue book value (check kbb.com and nada.com)
then you should decide for yourself whether the car is in execllent conditions.

If it is then you need to justify yourself if you're willing to pay extra for the immaculate conditions..
After all it is your money..

If you like what you see after you've seen it in person and drive it...you be the person that can make the best judgement out of it.....

Read this thread and it should give you an idea what as to what kind of stuff you should look for buying AMg car in general.

If your here in the U.S. for that price it isn't worth it even if it is an AMG. You should only be paying around $15000. Used dealerships just try to rip you off. It always better to buy a car from a person, cause its more personal and you can get to know the car cause you have the O.G. owner to tell you about it. The only good thing they are offering you is the warranty but there would be no point in that if you have to keep fixing it!

Also 97C28O for $26000 you can buy a CLK you got ripped off. Cause in 2000 I got a 99 CLK 320 for that price, from a private seller. I also got a set of carlsson rims with it for an additional $1200.

my 98 c43 with 80k cost me $14k 3 months ago fwiw. A1 inside and out. I shopped for 6 months to get that deal. A couple others went for $15-16k but most were in the 19-22k range.

    Are you kidding me..

one years old CLK320 ($45K new car) for $26000....
I am sorry, something just doesn't ring....to me.. (that's even too low for dealer trade-in price at the time).

either you buy a highmileage car, or there is something wrong with the car...
If they car is checked out, then lets say you're one lucky buyer..

But that doesn't meant that is the ongoing price for one years old CLK320...

woh..its is very cheap. 80k miles only $14k. my local dealer offer me $17k with 80k miles. but i do not want it coz i feel too expensive. i said $15k but he doesnt want to do it. i argued with the body is not excellent and high miles. he said coz it is amg....

    i spend 19k can get a 2001 c320. why not i get a 2001 c320 (41k miles!!!). with the warranty and sales taxes only cost me 23k.
    right?

I almost did that until I drove a 2001 c320. The dash cluster on the newer c class really bugs me. The power on the c43 is very nice and no one owns one. By contrast, there are 4 c320's on my street.

I think the newer c class has a better body, sexier lines, more modern etc... But I like the aggressive, boxy style of the c43. Throw in the power and the fantastic interior and Im happier with the c43.

FWIW the 2001 c class has a horrible consumer reports rating for electrical issues. I think some reviews actually rate it as a lemon. I would go for a 2002 or 2003 if you wanted the newer body style.... or I would get a 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty just in case some electrical issues pop up.

By contrast, if you want a sexy and powerful car for $19k.. look at the 2001 audi S4. That is a very nice ride with plenty of power and all wheel drive. 2000 s4s can be even cheaper.

agree on the lemon status of the 203...

been looking to trade up to one for the past month and all I've heard are horror stories from all the owners I've spoken to...

    wait for the 204 =)

i hated the 203, i hated the exterior and the interior was too breakable, but the 204 really looks sexy, now those are sexy curves and lines, lets hope they build them good from the first year and dont mess up like the 203

...general modrum MB quality woes aside, I really like that! Plus, the new C350 engine is said to already one betters even the C43 in 0-60 performance, and if you can get it w/a manual ... woe-ah...

Any first year model will have more problems than other years. I think they make a car in the first year, they find the problems the second year, and fix them in the third year.
