    differential swaping

hello, my friend swaped his differential on a C220 96 or 95 don't remember and its really a good mod considering the car pulls really good BUT it tops out at 180 instead of 210 km/h... im doing mine but i want a bit of info on differentials... i have 3.27 diff and the mechanic is gonna put a 4.2X forgot the last number... he says its gonna be much better... mine is a 97 c230 with the asr but no asr switch....

Im thinking of doing this on my C36. I figure it goes 155 so what if it only hits 140 after. I never get past 100 where I live.

Higher rpms at cruising speed on the highway though would decrease your fuel economy, right?

A higher number gear set will give you better take off while decreaseing your top speed. Lets say at 70mph your at 3k
with higher gears it might go to 3.5k rpms.
your speedo will be off at least some

Though the speed is calculated from the ABS sensors on the wheels so the diff should not alter that.
