Ever since i got my car it's been making this weird noise in the back right. Sounds like it's coming from the trunk. It's like a buzzing sound, sorta like a cell phone vibrating. It does that every now and then. Usually when i start the car it does that. Then after a bit it stops. Then it does it again. but when it buzzes it's not a constant thing. It's just like the ringing of a cellphone. It does it in intervals. Any suggestions? i took it to the dealers a couple of times and whenever i take it to them, it doesnt make the sound. Please help. Thanks

sounds like a vacuum pump. you most likely have a leak in the vacuum system.

depending on the year and model, its usually located in the trunk behind the passenger quarter panel, encased in a foam(noise supression) housing. you will see a bunch of yellow vacuum lines coming out of it.

i checked it out and it looks like that's what's making the sound but then it doesnt look like any of those hose are loose or leaking. Also can everyone hear their pump when their car runs? is this normal? thanks again

you most likely have a leak in one of the door lock vacuum lines, its very common.
when locking/unlocking doors, listen carefully for hissing sound coming from any door.

Thank you. i will try that tomorrow. If i do hear the hissing. do i just take off the door panel and redo the hose?

i checked all the hoses and the pump itself. They're all air tight. The thing is that it sounds like it's locking and unlocking doors when i start the car, except the locks don't do anything. It just sounds like it's pumping to unlock or lock it. I'm thinking that their might be something that's telling it to run like that, like maybe the computer is screwy? I'm hoping it's something simple like i can just change some fuse or something. Any ideas? :(

take it to the dealership or to a certified repairshop again and share the info you have so far, you might help them focus more. Basically go and ask, if they tell you for sure then have it fixed.
