Today i replaced the Belt Tensioner, as it would not get any tighter and the belt was still loose. I ordered a non-oem UroParts tensioner, looks exactly the same.

I took the 3bolt bracket off, took the shock off, took the old tensioner out, put the new one in, and put the bracket back on,

So I put the new tensioner on, put everything back together, kept the center allen key bolt loose, and started to tighten the tensioner. IT doesn't get any tighter then about 2 inches of play. The belt still squeels and is pretty loose. SO WHATS THE DEAL!!!!

Did I do something wrong. I put on a brand new MB belt on there ,too, Is there some sort of sequence to tighten this thing.
Its really pissing me off

Any help would be appreciated,

check the obvious first.
is the belt the same size as the one that came out?
wouldn't be the first time the wrong belt was given out accidentally.
you could try the old belt to see if it's loose also.
is the belt run around the all the pulleys correctly?
check the circuit run against the manual.

thanks, im actually pretty sure now that the belt is to big, the tensioner is at its max and the belt is still loose. the guy at cherry hill mb must of given me a belt that was too big, i am going to try a shorter belt tommorow. Ill let you guys know how it goes.

Yes I have, turns out the belt was about 6 inches to long, but the old one back on, tensioner works like a charm, know more squeeking.
