View Full Version : M104 wiring harness - where does this connector go? (Near camshaft switchover valve)??

There are four wires that go to the camshaft area, one for ground, two for the switchover valves, and there is one connector that I can't figure out where it goes.

I replaced my harness and the old one was longer and reaches down to the alternator area, but the new wiring has it shorter, near the other 2 connectors at the switchover valves.

Does this plug into something in the alternator? I could not find any open connector terminals there.

It is a 2-pin, has heavy gauge wires, I believe black/red and ground.

This is in a 1995 C36.

Here's pictures of the current connector in question, and the old one which is elongated and at the far left side of the old wiring harness which was removed.

Can someone with a C36 help this person out please. I would if I could, I don't have a C36.
OP - bump; I hope someone chimes in.

Thanks...this one has me confounded. Can't seem to find an 2-pin connector/pins in the alternator area. Confirming the wires are red/black and brown.

Also, if I leave the knock sensors disconnected (need to wire them in), will the car throw a check engine/limp home mode? These are the only two things keeping me from going ahead and starting it up.

Thanks in advance!

I have a 96 c280 and the only thing in the alternator area is the air pump and it has (well on mine) the 2 pin connector.
