Hi everyone, I currently own a 98 c280 6cyl and it needs an alternator... was wondering if I would be able to use the alternator off a 98 C230 4cyl?

Go on a site like Napaonline and look up both cars- then compare the part number(s). It a good way to cross reference parts.

Hi i took my alternator off myself and took to a local repair shop. It cost me 50 buck. Hope this help

from my research yes but it will be a lower amp rating 280 I think is 110 or 120 amp
im looking into the c43 alternator rated at 150 amp (because large sterio .. that's why ..)
