Hello, I want to ask whether anybody could help me with my cruise control. According to the manual book, I've pressed up the switch in a speed about 100 km/h, to activate the cruise control, but it won't work, i released the gas pedal but the speedometer keep decelerating. Was it the cruise control that was not working or i've done wrong prochedure in activating the cruise control function

Did you change the size of your wheels? Having different diameter wheels/tires can throw off your cruise control.

In the U.S. there was a recall on early w202 models concerning the cruise control system/linkage. I forgot what the bulletin was exactly, but i know it had to do with the cruise control.
I'm not sure if it's the same overseas as well. Worth asking your dealer?

I 've noticed that you are having a headrest problem too with your car. Is it possible that when you had the alarm installed, several fuses might have been blown?
Maybe check all your fuses, particularly the ones for cruise control and headrest.

The cruise control problem was since before i installed the alarm..
I've checked all fuses but it was all OK.
Yes.. i changed my wheel size to 18" using original mercedes benz avantgarde wheels 8.5" wide, front tyre 225/40/18, and at the rear 235/40/18. Is it because of it the cruise control won't work?
Btw, about my rear head rest problem,
Today i came back to the alarm people and i spent almost 2 hours finding the cause to the disfunction of the rear head rest restraint system, but they can't fix it, and asked me to go to the authorized MB workshop. But i think it'll cost a lot to fix there :(. But maybe i'll just let it that way, tough i sheldom use it anyway :)
Thanks a lot guys :) :) :)

I have a C36.
I used Michelins in the from and Toyo's in the back and my Cruise did not work.
I brought the car to MB and they took it in looking for the culprit.
Tookem 2 days but they told me the problem was that I had different tires on the car even though they are the stock sizing.
They swapped a set of fresh wheels and tired from a C43 on the showroom floor onto my car and the cruise worked. I bought a set of rear michelins and cruise worked.
Hard to believe huh? It's true.

The difference in tire widths is the source of your problem.
Front > 40% of 225 = 90
Rear > 40% of 235 = 94
Those are your diameters. As you can see, there is a significant difference in the diameter.
On my car, I have 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rears. They are on 18x8 and 18x9 wheels.
If you do the math,
Front > 40% of 225 = 90
Rear > 35% of 255 = 89.25
As you can see, the difference is quite minimal.
To fix, I would get all the same size tire or get a different wheel setup.
Hope this helps
