I have a 97 C230, and until now my stock CD player has been playing pretty well. I like to burn a lot of CD's, but I noticed that the CD has a hard time playing them, because they tend to skip a lot, compared to the CD's that I buy, which don't have a problem at all, another problem is that the LCD display has begun to seep through, even when the Car is off, I can still see the little LCD bars showing through the display. I really don't want to have to replace the deck if I don't have to, anyone know of anything I can do?

Your CD plroblem is due to the fact you are using burnt cd's in you cd player.. sometimes this will happen on the older cd changers.
as for the deck problem.. looks like you need a new head unit.. maybe go aftermarket and so up a system!!.. get new head unit and new style cd changer.. you wont have any skipping problems!
