Anyone have any good wheel cleaning suggestions with the wheels still on the car. I know the easiest way to clean them good would be to take them off. I don't have any problem cleaning the face but the whole inside of the wheel is black. Wheels look ten times better when they actually look three dimensional. Most clean cars you see on the road have a clean wheel surface but the insides are totally black. I guess too many people don't pay attention to stuff like that. The last time i cleaned them it looked awesome but it took me hours trying to get the right tools and angle to clean them well. What do you guys use and how do you do it?

I just put on new brakes and rotors and they should deliver much less dust but the wheels are still dirty as hell from not really cleaning them well for the past couple years. I'm going to try some wheel wax but I have to get them clean first.

Believe me, after a long day of dirt and sweat... You will feel more satisfied cleaning them yourself.

I use meguiars #36 to pick up the dirt more efficiently, dishwasher sponge (not the abrasive side of course) and a strong water spray... remove much of the dust even inside the wheels. Though so, because I uses a 3 piece wheels, every 3-4 washes I have to take them off the car to clean the back of the screws cause its's where the grime accumulate.

If you own wheels that have large enough holes then you just might need to reach in and get all the dirt into you... but if you own something like the monoblock got to take them off every now and then....

I don't really mind cleaning the wheels. What I do mind is jacking the car up and taking one wheel off at a time. What kind of brush do you suggest? Some of the wheel brushes in the stores look really abrasive. I tried power washing them once and the paint started to come of, a little spot, so I stopped. They are stock sport wheels...

Used those bathroom kinds brush for the inside and old toothbrush on the nuts. As for the spoke and the lip... I never use any brush... A good spray of the wheel's cleaning solution and the dust all got picked up by sponge...
If you ever thought of using any of those solution have a bucket of water or a hose ready to rinse your wheels immediately afterwards. These solution can discolor your paint or the coating.
My old OEM wheels were kind of yellow because of it.... :(

I hate mercedes jacks!!! Get a bottle or the normal jack... Spend you about $20 odd save you more time and energy... Lucky me, my neighbour has this air compressor in his garage. ;)
