Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me what is involved in a tune up for my C220? Please help.

spark plugs, coil ends, coil wires, fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter, oil change w/filter. add one fuel system cleaner to your next gas fillup.
depending on mileage and last time you replaced these parts, i would inspect the running belt, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid, diff, check for leaks, check brakes(pads and rotors) for cracks, uneven wear, rotor blueing. and a few more things I just can remember right now.

Thanks man. I got my oil changed at NTB tire and they said my Serpter Belt was loose. I know I am not spelling it right. He said it was the main belt. Where can I locate it?

Check your belt tensioner. If you look down in front of your engine, that's your serpentine belt. The small pulley to the right of your waterpump pulley is the tensioner. :)

Try and slowly do some the stuff yourself. I did the fuel filter, air filter, and oil myself. I hope to eventually get other others slowly done as well. Next job is the brakes, but I will get someone else to do that, mabye I can do it next time when I learn a bit more. If you need help, just ask. I knew nothing and everyone here helped me change my fuel filter, giving me details as to which screw bit I needed and how many, a good bunch of people.:D ;)

Thanks Man. Come to think of it can someone explain how to replace teh fuel filter and how to change the spark plugs? Does it make a difference whether I use the four head spark plugs or a single? As far as performance?

Do you mean dealership will cost 800 dollars? You wrote Stealership, I thought you meant dealership.

Here is my thread on the fuel filter. Fuel Filter (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6288)

I also would like to know about the spark plugs. Anyone know how to install them? THanks

take off the intake x-over pipe, remove the spark plug cover(the center piece of the valve cover(, then remove the coils, and there are the plugs. use 5/8 hex socket to remove the plugs, put in the new ones and tighten them to 20ft/lb, which is about a 3/4 turn after the plug gasket reaches the head and it feels tight by hand. as for the plugs of choice, stay away from platinum plugs if you want your engine to last. I highly recommend beru silverstone or beru ultra-x if performance is what you are seeking, otherwise bosch super are a OEM replacement.

Thanks. I tried once before but the intake wouldn't come off. How often are you supposed to change spark plugs? The Beru is not sold in Georgia, what is next best for spark plugs that is available?

I would try E3sparkplugs. My friend has them on his bmw and according to him, they are awesome. also, splitfire are pretty good, I had a good experience with them.

I have had bad experience with spitfire. They were melted after a month usage on one of my previous cars! ... But again I was shooting 120 Nitrous. :)
